If he is just getting started his best bet is to get added on someone elses policy for a year if possible. The only way you could do this is if the car being purchased is jointly titled. One of the main reasons his own policy will be so expensive is insurance companies look at having prior insurance. Most companies consider having a lapse in coverage the same as never having it before. I would call several agents for quotes if he absolutely needs to have his own policy -

I would also try progressive I’m an agent and there prices for males between 22-26 have been coming back hundreds cheaper. you could email me if you hsve sdditionsl questions at.
